Basic Info
Hi!! I'm Kaya V., I'm 16 years old and this is my website for my Highschool Honors Art Class.
I live in North Carolina with my mom, my big orange cat Fuji, and my small spoiled dog Willow.
I like to draw animals (obviously) and that's what I mostly specialize in. I do step outside of my comfort zone (in animals..) by drawing a variety of organisms like insects, arachnids, water bears, and even single-celled organism diagrams.
When I'm not doing serious artwork, I'll do humor because I like to make people have fun and laugh at the weirdest things.

My Background in Art
As far as officially taking art more seriously, I would say I started at 8 years old and kept going since. I did take a break for reasons I can't remember, and I regret that a bit because I feel like I could've been farther ahead if I just continued.
I was introduced to Digital Art at the age of 9 years old and that was my primary medium for a while. I started in MS Paint and then got a Wacom Bamboo tablet later that year which broke in about 2 months.

I was tablet-less for a while before my friend let me borrow his for a year or so before I had to give it back. I was tablet-less again. And again. Until last year I got a new one for the first time in a while after drawing primarily with a mouse. But before that I got a crappy little tablet with 0 pen pressure- and I went back to a mouse.
I am now back to a (cheapo but good) Wacom tablet and am trying to do art daily or regularly. This was my most recent doodle, (May 2018) for comparison to the others that you see here.
